Miles of nobody... And when you stop the car and get out to gaze and take it all in..... The silence. Absolute silence.... Except somewhere a few miles away, a sheep bleating. A grouse maybe, or a curlew, and the faintest sound of running water. Just this vast silence. Bliss.
