I started van life at 2012 till 2016, then off to a boat. boat life is easier.

No one ever mentions dealing with your own sewage (black water). That would send me over the edge!

I did it in like 2007 for a few years. Personally I loved it. Worked in winters in random areas and then hit up national parks and forests in the summer

Get a white Van, put a ladder on top make it look like a work van nobody is going to think someone is living in it.

I'd worry about thieves and mva. hard to lose both transportation and your home.

don't we all remember the Chris Farley sketch about living in a van down by the river and that taught me everything I wanted to know about not wanting to live in a van down by river

i agree 💯 people are delusional and won't admit, it's expensive overall, it's unsafe no matter where you go, it's not practical and too much stress

The thing is it has nothing to do with want but have to. The economy has forced all of us to down size. Down sizing for some is can some backpacks. Not choice but a force

because you were a city dweller who tried living in a Van while still in the City while still working. you also have this idea that you can't work a Job while parked in a Van on public lands. having a remote Job or passive income is the key.

I think it’s pretty much a last alternative when you have nothing else. Sheesh people are living in their cars, that’s rough, especially alone.

I agree, I lived in My Van for almost 1 year and it's better then sleeping on a picnic table but it still really Sucks! It's expensive and then if you have any kind of mechanical repair you're sunk. I decided to move out of the Country altogether. 🥰

I once lived in my car for about a month. I was moving from one place to another and it took much longer than I thought to move to the other place

We drove across country on a very nice luxury bus. It was a delivery btw, but the owner let us vacation on it for two weeks. I was over it by the time we came back and it was a top tier rig! Kudos to vanlifers.
