My bf and I bought a condo in 2018 at 24 and 26. We paid 255 and is now worth 420k. Glad I got my foot in the door. Down payment was like 14k and our mortgage is $1400

we finally settled for a mobile home. 4bs 2.5bath 1500sq ft and only 295k. gave up on the standard house dream. love our little place. gotta get past the stereotypes of mobile homes and do whats right for your family to get by out here.

Most SD locals have to get grandfathered in to stay living there. Renting from family for a decent price, someone you know, or buying a family members house. It’s not necessarily generational wealth but kind of.

All the SD natives saying "that's in the hood", that is the same thing said about every home being sold in SD during the 2008 market crash and YOU MISSED OUT!!! Bought my home in 2009 around this area, 4bd, 2bath, $203K, now worth $700K because "ITS IN THE HOOD!!!" and now you all are dealing with paying high rent prices, IN THE HOOD!!!

Two millennial San Diego natives here…one income, family of 5….. but the ONLY way this was possible was because we bought up in Oceanside AND in early 2016. Starter home is very much our forever home now.

Millennial San Diego homeowner here. No silver spoon in hand. Just AD Navy and nursing income. Got in when the getting was good with a 2.5% interest. VA loan helped a lot too.
