I always do this. No issues with weight even when packed to the BRIM clothes are never wrinkled, I take them out as soon as I get to the hotel.

I can’t tell if you did this but if you roll your clothes really tight they are less likely to get super wrinkled in this process! So gold in half, roll tight, then put in bag.
