very tragic. I feel like she probably said get my husband to help you, he over heard and didn't listen to the instructions and went in zone 4 anyway. But my question is, why was he in zone 2 or 3 w/o being screened and having that on his neck?

Why wasn't all of his metal locked into a locker just as she had to do? As her support person, not only should he not have been wearing that, the techs somehow missed that?!

I'm a nurse and I'm not allowed anywhere near my critically ill patient when they are getting an MRI. There is no way they are letting in non healthcare workers.

mom's walker in the proper safe zone flew past Her and hit her but luckily she didn't get pinned. they offer her a new walker..think she had a couple of bruises. could have been so much worse 😫

I can’t imagine an MRI tech allowing ANYONE except the patient and their own staff in the MRI room. The MRI techs know. They. Know. THEY help the people on and off the table if assistance is required.

Did they have zones? Locks? Basic mri safety should have locks on doors. Machine is always on.

MRI Technologist and certified MRSO(MRI Safety Officer) this is a 💯 PREVENTABLE TRAGEDY. There are 4 dedicated MRI ZONES- Zone I general public, Zone II patient and support person screening, changing completely into safe gowns/scrubs and locking away ALL PERSONAL ITEMS, Zone III ONLY SCREENED/CHANGED PERSONS AND TRAINED MRI PERSONNEL, Zone IV- THE MAGNET ROOM, THE MAGNET IS ALWAYS ON- persons only permitted with the DIRECT SUPERVISION of Level 2 MRI Personnel. If the facility had these mandatory zones in placed and they were being enforced this horrible tragedy never would have occurred. Truly heartbreaking
