Japan needs to get smart fast w this overtourism best way is by taxes, if your hotel booking is 1500$ how about a ten percent tourism tax? Reservations needed for landmarks, maybe for certain neighborhoods there's a quota on the amount of people in that area beyond residents...I see these images and think of the crowd crush that happened on Halloween in South Korea a few years back. What on earth is gonna happen here if there's some kind of emergency or attack? Half the people don't speak the language so how could they follow evacuation or directions from police...
