It’s kinda simple. The Burj Khalifa is shaped like the letter ‘Y’ to make it more aerodynamic and be able to resist strong winds, and spreads the weight equally, because winds can become hella strong at 828 meters higher than sea level, especially in Dubai. The building’s ‘wings’ take a ‘step back’, so that it doesn’t shake like a guitar string. The middle is reinforced so that it doesn’t collapse. That’s where all the elevators and stairs are. Below the Burj Khalifa are underground concrete pillars to add more stability.
