I always thought this read like overreach and kidnapping when I first saw it. Like how far out of the courtroom this judge had to travel to get her, then have her arrested in his courtroom only FURTHER disrupted his own courtroom in the first place lol

It’s not just that she walked away. It’s not even just that she walked away and was black doing it. But because she was seen as uppity and not obeying them. That’s what really get yt people like him in a chokehold, the fact that he’s a judge adds on to his power trip. They see us through Jim Crow lenses still. That’s why random ones call the police when you don’t leave a park when they told you to.
