I’d heard so many things about Southern Italy before this trip: theft, dirty streets, rude people… But none of it turned out to be true. The beach is patrolled by police, there are free lockers, and in the evenings staff walk around asking if anyone would like to throw away their rubbish. The beach is also patrolled by the coast guard, and the lifeguards are very attentive. The city itself is clean, and the food in Puglia is some of the best I’ve had in Italy. Even a simple Italian panino is absolutely delicious. Throughout the whole trip we only met kind people. Italian pensioners were especially lovely. They went out of their way to help us figure out the public transport and even helped us with other things. They were genuinely so sweet. If you’re planning a trip to Bari, I’d recommend staying close to the sea. The only small downside is the public transport. Buses don’t always run on schedule, and because of roadworks some routes are temporarily changed. I’d also recommend using official taxi ranks instead of Uber. We got scammed twice through Uber. A driver accepted our ride almost immediately while he was far away, drove around somewhere, and the money was taken from our account. We never got it back. In the end, the taxis from the official airport taxi rank were actually cheaper and arrived almost immediately. Overall, I definitely recommend visiting Bari❤️🇮🇹 #italy #bari #italia #travel #traveltok
