Since Ubuntu required registration for updates, its not linux anymore. I moved all my systems to mx-linux.

I was all about Ubuntu and Linux Mint for the first 6 months I was learning...then I tried Arch Linux and realized the amount of customization I'd been missing out on. not for a beginner though, so please stick to Ubuntu when first starting out.

Consider Zorin OS. Excellent for ex Windows users as no command line needed and can be configured to look like Windows. My parents didn't even notice the difference!
