That’s utterly ridiculous!!! I have students with social/emotional goals. Students with behavioral goals. Students with life skill goals. Students with basic learning to learn goals. And yes, students with academic goals. Challenges and disabilities show themselves in individuals in different ways. Tell your administrators to make it make sense for the success of the child!

For real, my daughter is gifted but she had some other issues. She has an iep. A couple years ago they wanted to drop some things because she was doing so well. She was so stressed out. So yeah, she got good grades, but needed some supports.
