Suffering and undiagnosed for 3+ years. Abdominal pain, bloating & constipation. Have had 4 MRIs, 3 CT scans, internal ultrasounds, external ultrasounds, colonoscopy, endoscopy all tests and scans came back perfect. Was diagnosed yesterday with SIBO but not tested for it. Was prescribed Xifaxan & probiotic and told to follow FODMAP diet. My life has been miserable for so long mostly due to the abdominal pain. Never gassy though. Amy advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you for this explanation!! Out of desperation, I went to a naturopathic clinic to get an iron infusion (healthcare wouldn’t cover it until I was low enough) and after chatting with the doctor, she’s pretty sure a lot of my problems stem from SIBO. I’m being tested tomorrow

I have H2 and CH4 SIBO. My functional MD has me taking Candibactin-AR and BR. What are your thoughts on this? The standard antibiotics weren’t covered nor approved under insurance.

wouldn't it be better not to be on a low fodmap diet while on antimicrobials? that way , the bacteria are out and present in the gut. making it easier to kill

My diet is so restricted atp I am suffering from malnutrition. I can't stop losing weight. I'm a mess I'm so complex, too - even my MCAS doc who is a GI specialist cannot fix me. I have a loop in my small intestine.

is xifaxin good for hydrogen SIBO. I took it 3 times a day for 2 weeks last year after testing positive for hydrogen SIBO and I got major diarrhea and nausea, rode it out, ensured I didn't have c diff and didn't help a ton but helped with the bloating. I tested again this year and I'm positive again. my GI said it can be a false positive and I'm so confused. I'm on a high dose of ppi now and just got my gallbladder out so want to test again after I'm off the ppi bc I know that can cause or worsen it and am getting pretty bloated but nervous to try xifaxin again.

Hello! I still dont have my final diagnosis but l did 15 days of rifaximine and I was feeling very well but, the moment I stopped, the diahrrea came again like before. The only thing that helped me was to have a very restritive low foodmap diet until I have my next appointment . More than 1 month now. Can you give me your feeedback about this? Everything started with diahrrea and pain sice may 1st 😢

hey i have emetophobia and im waiting for my gastro appointment to address my weight loss and nausea while eating, bloating, zero appetite, b12, magnesium, ect deficiencies. im super anxious to eat due to the nausea and fullness after a few bites. what do you suggest for relief ?
