@vinopapi23: 4 simple things done right that make a 5⭐️+ fantasy book (IMO) 1. Top tier characters 2. Elaborate worlds with maps that make sense 3. Intriguing but easy to follow magical system 4. Gotta feel some type of emotion #BookTok #fantasybooktok #5starreads #highfantasybooks #fantasybooks
Love a map and characters that are complex and make me care!!!

For me Mistborn is the perfect example for a good Magic system. It has som variety but is easy to understand and you are exploring and advancing its limits during the series + it actually matters for the plott

Not related to your video but reading isles of emberdark between suneater books felt like picking up hooked on phonics by comparison. Sanderson could step up the prose just slightlyyyy

Curious what you thought about Final Empires magical system. I had trouble grasping that although I still really really enjoyed the books.

I feel like what you’re describing here should be a baseline standard for competence. Having interesting characters shouldn’t be a five star standard, it should be the first lesson you pass as a beginner.

this is very much " hang with smitty vibe." love it! I don't mind frustrating characters but they either have to have some sort of redemption or demise 😆 otherwise, I will throw a book. yes, please make the map make sense. what do you mean he traveled to the other side of the country on foot in 20 min?

Have you read Joe Abercrombie's First Law series? Maps don't show up until later in the series, only when necessary. But it's top-tier character work 👌
