@kkearah.kkraus: My mom shows us how to make homemade sticky rice! 🍚 Loose directions: 1. 4 cups of Thai glutinous rice 2. Wash rice 3. Soak for at least 1 hr 4. Fill large pot with 1/3 water. Pour rice into rice strainer/steamer and set on top of the pot of water 5. Make a hole in the middle of the rice so the steam can cook the rice. You can also make other small holes throughout the rest of the rice (just refer to the video 😂) 6. Turn the stove on HIGH and cover the pot with a lid 7. How long you steam the rice for depends on how long you soaked it. I would say if you soaked the rice for 1-2 hrs, steam it for 45 min-1 hr. If you soaked the rice for 3-4 hrs, steam for 25-30 minutes. Just try the rice to see if it’s cooked. You can flip the rice over when it’s halfway cooked (we didn’t do this though because it steamed so quickly) 8. Once the rice is cooked/almost cooked you can add fresh shredded coconut if you have it! Let that steam for a few extra minutes with the rice For the sauce: 1. Get a sauce pan and pour coconut milk 2.
