i’m aware my take on this probably doesn’t hold any weight to christians as i’m a nonbeliever, but i’ve always thought mega churches were so… not christ-like? there are homeless people on the streets and people dying in wars—surely jesus would want his followers to put their money and effort into helping the unfortunate, instead of putting on elaborate, glamorous shows. it’s just a blatant display of greed from the people who run these churches. anyways, all this is to say if you feel more connected to your spirituality outside of a megachurch, that’s no coincidence. like i said ik being a nonbeliever means my opinion probably doesn’t mean as much.. but the way i see it, if i knew for a fact that jesus was walking the earth right now, the last place i’d look for him is a megachurch. i’d look under highways in homeless encampments, in war zones, in places where suffering people need help.

church anxiety is the REALEST thing. i grew up being forced to be christian and as long as i can remember ive been anxious going to church. it is a mega church and kinda.. scary. when i turned 18 i stopped going because my parents couldn’t force me anymore. now i wanna find a small church maybe if i go back

I feel like as a Christian myself there's good judgment and there's bad judgment. like judging people for who they are is wrong But we have to judge between right and wrong all the time and also people doing things that can harm your testimony requires judgment in the sense of do I want to be with them or friends with them requires judgment.

I truly don’t believe mega churches are even churches or biblical, just a tax free LLC with Jesus on the poster. Please find a smaller church.

try gateway young adults next Tuesday if your still in that place, I was going to the porch for a long time and then my boyfriend asked me to go to Gateway, and I literally am on my face and worship like on my knees
