it's so sad, grew up in Pinellas and the tbird and Don Cesar are monuments of driving along the beach on the weekends 😭 I'm glad they're keeping the sign

Oh wow! The Thunderbird has always been the landmark of Treasure Island! I sure hope they rebuild. Their customer service was always top tier.

You might want to do a story of all of the older people that can’t afford to rebuild. Hundreds of empty houses up and down the beaches.

As a child growing up in the 70s, when we saw the thunderbird we knew we were at the beach. This brought a few tears, I hope the rebuilt Thunderbird will bring the same memories for others for years to come. I only regret that I kept putting off a stay there because I live so close, hopefully I can remedy that when it's reopened.
