The church i was volunteering at forced me to take an ambulance after i begged them not to (i was knocked out in a game of red rover) I owed 8k alone for the ambulance ride. The insurance they assured me would cover me only covered 5k. The whole bill was over 20k. The church refused to help me with the rest and that's one of the many reasons i left Christianity lol.

If i must go to emergency, I call a ride. Not 911. I once had EMTs waiting with an ambulance to take me in, and I legit called my brother to come pick me up. I once had to hold my face together while I called my husband for a lift to emergency to atitch it back together. I had insurance both those times, but the ambulance doesn't take insurance.

Is it weird that I’ve had this happen to me? A motorcycle ran into my cab and clipped his arm along so fast his bones shredded through his skin. He was bleeding on the side of the highway. You could tell he was going into shock. I stopped/slowed a majority of the bleeding, kept him laid down and his feet elevated. He was loosing lucidity, but when I the cabbie came to say he called 911 the guys started screaming “NO NO NO HOSPITAL NONO MY FAMILY!” So I called his family, and kept him conscious as best I could. They came and got him, and took him to the hospital. Dude lived, but that was traumatizing.

I was in a motorcycle accident and I absolutely refused to get in the ambulance. told the cops and paramedics I wasn't paying $5k for a ride.

Literally got into a car accident where a huge truck T-boned me and I happily signed the form saying I’m refusing EMT while my arm was in a sling. Hospital was only 5mins done the road

When I was a kid there was this man that was always at our local McDonald's. We all knew him. One day we saw his hand was bleeding excessively! Someone called paramedics. He was ANGRY and refused help As a child I didn't understand why he didn't want help. As an adult I cannot forget him because he was most likely homeless or close to it and someone trying to help was gonna send him even further in the hole.

I passed out from norovirus and my blood pressure bottomed out. I lived two blocks from the hospital. Before it happened I told my now husband that if he ever called me an ambulance to my apartment I would break up with him.
