Pro tip, as a seasoned nurse here, you do NOT have to stay where you start out. If you do not like it do not be afraid to try different areas/specialties! Just apply/keep applying, go introduce yourself to other people in the areas you are thinking you might like, if it requires experience ask to shadow. A nursing degree is SO versatile. Unfortunately too many people get stuck in one area/specialty & they get burnt out or they hate it. Do not be afraid to change it up until you find the area/specialty that makes you happy (as you can be working bc let’s be real no one dreams of working 😉).

I wanted to be a psych nurse and I hated it during clinicals! I ended up being a Medsurg nurse for 10 years… just switched to ortho/neuro in January…still Medsurg-ish but more specialized. Good luck to you all on your new adventures!
