@brynn_ann: How to Revive a Sourdough Starter From the Refrigerator 1. Take your starter out of the fridge 2. Stir it well — it’s okay to mix the hooch back in 3. Let it sit on the counter until it reaches room temp. 4. Feed it using a 1:1:1 ratio 5. Leave it loosely covered at room temp. 📌 Important Info: - If your starter doubles in 4–6 hours ➡️ it’s ready to bake with! - If it’s rising slowly or not at all ➡️ keep feeding it daily to build its strength back up ✨ Noticing acidity? Check out my video “How to Fix an Acidic Starter” (posted June 2nd) for help. #sourdough #sourdoughstarter #sourdoughbread #sourdoughtok #sourdoughforbeginners
My friend gave me some starter she has had since the 90s. I had in it the fridge a few months. Never made sour dough before so thank you for this. i took it out and stirred and now will make myself start process. I did buy a Dutch oven today and started with a four ingredient bread for now just to see how I do. I still need to learn how to add starter when actually making bread.

Is it normal that I'm not gettimg any bubble or rise after the first feeding from being in the fridge for like 6 months, it's not really smelling acidic. Please let me know what I should do and if I should feed at 12hrs or 24hrs

I’m new to sourdough but inherited a very old fantastic starter that I have not yet fed. When you say to feed it daily, do I have to discard and then feed or do I just keep adding a 1-1? Hope the question makes sense.

Mine was only in the fridge for two days and I took it out last night and fed it and then fed it this morning and it didn’t double, it does have bubbles tho. Do I wait to feed it until tomorrow?

My starter was in the fridge a cpl months. I took it out last night, dumped the hooch, got it to room temp, and discarded all but 5 grams, then added 25grms flour/water. Coming up on 24 hrs, it has barely rose but I see a cpl bubbles. My question is, do I just feed it again or discard half and feed?

Do we feed the entire starter or can we only take a little from the fridge starter to restart and leave the rest in the fridge?

So mine was in the fridge for about almost 2 months, and I took it out of the fridge last night and fed it and then around seven hours later, it had completely doubled in size and it was already overflowing. Can I bake with that now?

If I keep mine in the fridge for a week and take it out to feed so that I can bake how does that work? Also do u keep it airtight once I feed it?

I took my starter out of the fridge after about 1 month and it was airtight. I followed your tutorial to put it in the fridge, but when I opened the airtight lid, something was off. A small layer of the starter was slightly darker and when I mixed it, the rest of it was a normal color. There was not any hooch, which I believe is weird. Should I still try to keep feeding it? I just mixed it and now I’m leaving it to go to room temp.

I'm a little confused...did you feed this one before you put it in the fridge? (in the other video you had said you do, and then when you pull it out, you let it peak before feeding). just wondering. 😊 thank you
