That’s a songwriter & arranger not a producer. It’s weird how hip hop and other genres see a producer in a different light. A real producer watches over the whole production, including mix engineer, singer, songwriters/beatmakers, mastering engineer. I’ve seen great beatmakers that can arrange and finish songs. Lots of these beatmakers nowadays are just lazy.

Beat maker makes a beat on a sampled melody most of the time. A producer has to curate a vibe out of nothing to end with a full song.

Let me tell you something a beat maker is still a producer. He gets producer credits at the end of the day. But yeah a main producer works goes beyond beat alone, songwriting, arranging the song to fit perfectly with the vocals and also overseeing the recording, mixing and mastering too. So basically a producer could do the work of a beat maker, songwriter, engineer just so the song could be perfect for consumption. Don’t start talking down on beat makers tho they are important too.
