@creationsineducation: You might be wondering ‘how?’ 🤥 How could you possibly use these for ALL grades? Do they actually save you time? Well… ✅ BOOKLETS — just print, fold and staple! Yes, they take time to prep, but when 30 minutes of work = a WHOLE term of spelling tests / vocabulary practise / ➕➖➗✖️fact fluency / reading response activities for a WHOLE CLASS! I’d take that over hours over the time finding and preparing resources… 🫣🥵 AND they keep student work in one place, are great for assessment, motivation AND routines (hello 👋🏼 classroom management 😍). ✅ PRINT & GO GAMES — print, slip and PLAY! Games that include different versions for different abilities (e.g. clocks on the hour vs. 24 hour time) OR games that allow you to easily differentiate by changing the DICE 🎲 = NO PREP TIME NEEDED! USE FOR ALL! And they’re FUN! When students WANT to play, behaviour management = 🚀 ✅ TASK CARDS — Open ended ONLY! ❌ I used to print task cards for fun because I thought they’d be great fast finisher and centre activities. Boy was I WRONG! 🤣 Within minutes my students would wave them at me saying “I’m done, now what!?” 🤪 Bloom’s Taxonomy is a framework that encourages students to work from lower to higher order thinking. 💭 For example if learning about 💰… 1️⃣ Draw all the denominations of Australian currency. 2️⃣ How many ways can you make $1 using different coin combinations? 3️⃣ Explain how to calculate change. Use an example (e.g. if an item cost $17.20, and you paid with $20). Are there other ways to work it out? Show different ways of working it out. 4️⃣ Research a currency system in a different currency. Compare it with your own currency using a Venn Diagram. 5️⃣ List the advantages and disadvantages of each currency researched. Which would you prefer to use and why? 6️⃣ Create your own currency! Think about the denominations, material, what each coin or note would look like. Give reasons for all of your design choices! When task cards are open-ended, structured using Bloom’s, the possibilities are ENDLESS, encouraging students to engage in more divergent, creative thinking. 📲Comment FREE and I’ll send you some of these!
