With my 2nd baby (bfeeding) my husband didn’t have to wake up so much with my toddler and I was resentful so instead he wakes up at 5am and has a to do list of chores and tasks which is SO helpful one less thing for me to do and the house is reset in the mornings and evenings we instead spend time together rotting on couch when babies are asleep

We have always put the kids to bed every other night. The one not putting the kids to bed cooked or put away what ever the kids hadn’t. Not that it was much but still.

exactly this. happier marriage for it. me and my partner always clean and put away equally. sometimes yeah one of us will pick up the slack more when the other ones tired and that's OK. my partner fully takes over parenting when he's home from work so I can start cleaning after a busy day of mess. then after bedtime we clean together and thst way we can sit down and chill and enjoy each other's company more. I also had to lower my standards. before kids my home was a show home. there comes a point you realise a home has to be lived in and mess is OK. let kids be kids. they ain't young for long and we will soon miss the mess 🥰

It’s defo about working together. We have it that whoever is doing bedtime with our son, the other person cleans the kitchen & does the basic tidy. Now we’ll help each other out if things are worse than normal (either the cleaning or bedtime) but dividing and conquering works for us.

My husband walks straight in the door at 7 to the bedtime routine! While he does that I tidy the toys, then he cooks & I clean up. Different jobs but we’re on the same team 🙏
