@gotwoodwrkshop: Flattening my new workbench for the first time! My grandpa's old jointer plane is flat and works well, but really struggles with fine shavings, so I have it set up to take a deep cut removing the bulk of the high spots, the shavings are almost more like chips, but this leaves the surface pretty rough, so I follow that up with the MTC Low Angle Jointer plane that excels at taking beautiful fine shavings to smooth it out and ensure the bench top is flat! I can't wait to start making things on this bench. It's a slightly modified version of the Rex Krueger English Joiners Bench, if you want to make it yourself!
