@buckhorncliffs: Potassium permanganate and glycerin. Both last forever if stored right. Both have multiple uses. But together, they do something ... fun. Put a small pile of potassium permanganate on some firewood or a rock. Drip a little glycerin on top. Wait a few seconds. You'll get smoke, then fire. No lighter. No friction. Just a chemical reaction. Potassium permanganate is a strong oxidizer. Glycerin reacts slowly, builds heat, then ignites. This is one more reason to stock both. Water purification, wound care, and yes, starting a fire when everything is wet. Prepper on.
