GUYS PLS I NEED HELP. I’ve never had my own dog before, but I’m really interested in a family-line German Shepherd, one of the calmer and more balanced types, but also protective. I’ve done quite a bit of research, and from what I’ve learned, they mainly need good mental stimulation and about one hour of daily exercise. I already have four different food puzzle bowls that provide mental challenges in different ways, some work like labyrinths, others involve licking or solving small tasks to get the food. I also plan to teach basic commands like “sit”, “down”, and “give paw”, and make sure the dog gets its daily walks and training. But as I mentioned, I’ve never owned a dog before, so based on what I’ve described, do you think a family-line German Shepherd would be a good fit for me? And would they be suitable for a first-time owner? 😊
