Brenda, when Summer time comes in Arizona, due to the monsoons, we cannot leave the bread on the counter. Too much humidity. Even in the fridge the regular white bread will crush so much easier. So yes, I've noticed that for the past year...maybe we now havecauper molds! Lol And they make the commercial breads with cheaper ingredients.....🤷♂️🤷♀️🤷

the last ingredient, calcium propionate, is added specifically to retard the growth of mold. Organic breads last lower amounts of time because it’s just natural products : Bread flour

Water
Salt
Sugar
Butter
Yeast when store kind has 25 things and Calcium Propionate at the end to prevent mold from growing , that’s why
