Cody only has until 5pm today to find foster/rescue or he will be euthanized at the San Jose Animal Care Center 🥺 Per San Jose Animal Advocates: 🔥🆘 URGENT 7/17: Extended to 7/23/25 at 5:00 p.m. NEED FOSTER ASAP. -------- Cody is a 4-year-old male German Shepherd mix who has recently faced a tough ordeal. He arrived with injuries from suspected vehicular trauma, including a severe fracture to his right femur and spondylosis, as well as embedded foxtails that need attention. Despite all this, Cody remains calm, well-behaved, and is potty trained. He has no issues with handling and shows a gentle, trusting nature. Cody is currently in urgent need of orthopedic evaluation of his right pelvic limb to give him a chance at a happy, pain-free life. This strong, loyal dog is ready for a second chance with someone who can support his recovery and shower him with the care he deserves. The shelter currently lacks the capacity and resources to provide the care he desperately needs, and he is facing euthanasia. There are some shelter funds available to our Rescue Partners. If you have the bandwidth to help Cody heal and thrive, he would be incredibly grateful, and so would everyone who gets to know this resilient and sweet boy. Due to Cody’s injuries and the stress of the shelter environment, he has not been dog-tested. To set him up for success, Cody should go to a home with no other dogs or one where he can be kept safely separated to heal. He is potty trained, weighs 89 pounds, and desperately needs a safe place to heal.
