I'm not a big fan of the E3 spark plugs. whenever somebody asks for a small engine spark plug I go straight to champion or NGK. I know a lot of people don't like champions but I think they work fine and small engines.

I have an E3 plug in my mower when I did my beginning of season tune up. store was out of the Champion I needed. so far its worked just fine. in fact I think it runs a little better.

the exhaust stroke would also push air out. that doesn't mean it's on the compression stroke

Hey. Get rid of Briggs spark plug. Use a NGK. Get rid of Lucus Mucus and STP. Use Prolube and royal purple full synthetic. Probably last 2 to 3 summers

I've worked on a few that have smoked like this and my go-to is usually the carburetor and an oil change. the float stick when it's not running and fills the crankcase with gas. I usually just throw some 10W-30 in it and it's good

I have one of those engines that say no oil change needed i still change the oil spark plug and air filter and sharpen the blade im not trying to buy a new push mower anytime soon lol
