Mine kept telling me to stay still and I was mid contraction. And got mad everytime I’d move. I apologized so much and they told me stop apologizing and then got mad bc I apologized after they told me to stop…..

i said the same thing to my anesthesiologist and she said “yeah of course just let me know when you’re ready”. i am now realizing how lucky i was, she was amazing 😩

Hi- sometimes it actually works in our favor if your in the middle of a contraction as your so focused on that you barley notice what we’re doing back there and then banb! We’re done and you’re starting to feel comfortable. Also sorry they said they have other places to be but usually one anesthesiologist coveres the whole OB unit so they could be needed for a c-section just for context!

It’s so sad to have this kind of experience. My doc gave me a little step stool for my feet and hand my partner hold my hand and said as soon as the contraction starts let him know and try to be really still and I didn’t even feel the needle. And when my contraction was over he was done. And the. Then told me how the epidural worked and I felt great. Never had any issues after. This happened both births with different doctors for me.

When I had my son in 2020 the nurse raved about the anesthesiologist and he’s so quick l how I’d be pain free in no time. He stabbed my spine 4 times.

My anesthesiologist was a male and I told him I have a contraction. He waited until it was over to start and he never told me he was going to stick the needle in, which I appreciated. Otherwise, it would’ve made me more nervous

My anesthesiologist did the same thing basically. Told her wait because i had a strong contraction and she just said “it doesn’t matter if you’re having a contraction” i kept saying wait wait but she didn’t just told me to stay hunched over. Was so scared to be paralyzed so i tried my best to stay still. Hate how health care workers treat women.

Yeah, you gotta be hard and firm with your health. Most times, they either really don’t care enough or they’re too tired to care, so you have to advocate strongly for yourself and not yourself be steamrolled.
