@ancestraltones: Ca trù is a Vietnamese chamber music tradition dating to at least the 15th century, featuring a female vocalist with bamboo percussion, accompanied by a three-string lute and small drum. This refined art was performed in royal courts and scholarly gatherings but nearly disappeared in the 20th century due to war and political suppression. A quiet revival began in the 1990s through dedicated artists and scholars, with UNESCO recognizing it as endangered heritage in 2009. Today, around 60 clubs across Vietnam are working to preserve this treasured tradition.
