@sanantonio_kennels: Tan Points, “Straw” Color & Backyard Breeder Lies in Cane Corsos Let’s get something straight: Tan points and “straw” coloring are not part of the real Cane Corso breed. They are the result of backyard breeders chasing hype, not preserving history. Tan points come from the Agouti at/at gene — not found in true Corsos. They were introduced when people mixed Corsos with Rottweilers, Pitbulls, and other breeds, especially during the early creation of the XL Bully. That’s why so many dogs with tan points also have pitbull-style heads, exaggerated mass, and poor structure. And the so-called “straw” Cane Corso? It’s just an extremely diluted formentino or fawn — often from heavy color-focused breeding, double dilution (d/d), and genetic manipulation. It’s not recognized by AKC, FCI, or ICCF — not even as a disqualifying color. It simply doesn’t exist in the breed standard. And no — calling these dogs “working line” doesn’t make them legitimate. Cane Corsos are a working breed by default. They were bred to guard, protect, and serve. Slapping on “working line” is just backyard breeder lingo to cover up faults and mixed blood. ⸻ The result? •More dogs being bred for color, not function. •More off-standard dogs sold as “rare” or “exotic.” •More Cane Corsos ending up in shelters, abused, or put down because buyers weren’t ready for the responsibility. ⸻ STOP SUPPORTING THIS CYCLE. •Stop buying from uneducated breeders. •Stop praising tan points and straw coats. •Stop ruining another powerful working breed just because it looks cool. Respect the breed. Do your research. Preserve the Cane Corso — or stay out of it. #CaneCorso #RealCaneCorso #preservethebreed #canecorsotruth #canecorsoeducation #canecorsofacts #workingbreedonly #BackyardBreederExposed #TanPointsExposed #StrawCorsoIsFake #DesignerDogsAreNotRare #geneticsmatter #knowwhatyourebuying #DogTok #DogBreedEducation #RespectTheBreed #callitout #fypシ #canecoroslovers #masterinbiology #knowitall

WHATEVERWRLD :
for the “straw corso” is there more issues when they get older than the black corso’s for example? also are there any purebred/wellbred medium-large-xl dogs that are like cream or white that are bred to live a normal life as other dogs???

Right and when we focus on colors over temperament, health, ect, it becomes a problem

I kinda kinda disagree but feel free to educate me a little further. "showlines" aka confirmation lines are selectively bred to meet the breed standard and have a more easy going temperament. working lines are selectively bred for specific traits like a stronger work ethic, high drive and stamina. I believe every bred has a wl sl and even pet line. but not mutts ofc

There’s 2 different lines but alright mate you have the show dog line and then the working line yes they are bred as working dogs but the show dog line has a different temperament to the working line

Some breeders use “carbon” to mean a dark overlay or sable/black-tipped hairs. But that is not an accepted term in official breed standards.

I have rescued 2 and Luna was bred bad thats why she was dumped she had major hip problems incontinence problems and they couldn’t sell her so she was left in park to die at 6 months old I saved her but her injuries were to bad and I had her for almost 5 years the medical problems progressed much faster that what I had thought I had to put her to sleep a few months ago it was devastating she was the best girl ever I trained her she would do anything for me and my kids forever greatful for the time I had with her she was the love of my life ! People dont understand what they are doing breeding them and she payed the price we all did

It shows how many don’t do their research on the history of corsos and how tan points was part of the corso history … theirs even a tan point champion in iccf history blue tan point 🤷🏽‍♂️working line are considered more traditional lines since today “breed standards “ are water down corso with no drive over weight no functionality in the dog

The diluted fawn “straws” are now being Championed through AKC there’s more than one championed I handled one in the akc ring didn’t get dq… so in the Registry wrong ? 🤔 or what is the real “standard” for a breed that is ancient when registries like akc just acknowledge the breed in 2010 ? Many AKC corso are the water down ones. Many traditional lines since are now being called working because the new modern line don’t WORK I have yet to see people want to work their Corso they just want to sanction show their dogs “health test” but they have never actually work the dog to see if it’s health can keep up with real working abilities and then say that a real corso 😂😂 Registry from Europe also have a complete different standard it may say other wise but most imports are the ones being mix

Plud di Vito Indiveri. The Recovery foundation dog. 🇮🇹 — that helped rebuild the breed in the late ’70s/’80s in Italy. If you’re going to own these dogs and have a kennel the bare minimum is to know history 🤦‍♂️
