Camp 2 on Ama Dablam is a breathtaking spot 🤩 It’s perched right on a sharp ridge of a mountain because there is just no other option 🏔️ The mountain is very steep throughout. This makes it so special. And the views are so beautiful! 🌄 However, every beauty has its quirks: 🔹 Tents are not set on flat ground, so you have to expect boulders inside. That means sleeping is quite a challenge 💤 🔹 There is a tricky bathroom a situation given the steepness, especially at night 🧻 🔹 Limited bathroom spots also means climbers go for number two in one spot right next to the tents, and it gets smelly 🚻 🔹 Cleanliness needs improvement too 🧹 🔹 During windy weather the camp could be a nightmare, imagine loosing a tent up there! 💨 🔹 Getting to the camp itself is also a challenge, there is a long stretch of sheer drop, known as the Yellow Tower, right before the camp which you need to climb 🧗 🔹 Some of the tents are on such steep part that you need to rappel and use jumar to get in 🧗‍♂️ 🔹 Once you’re in your tent, you’re pretty much stuck because moving round the camp can be quite dangerous… and tiring because of the altitude! 😮‍💨 🔹 the camp is so high that the altitude is most likely going to affect you and so you won’t fully enjoy being there 🤢 🔹 You tend to share the tents with other groups because there isn’t space for everyone, so you can’t just leave your stuff behind during the rotations ☹️ Yet, despite the challenges, it remains my favourite camp ever! 💫 🎥 tolivetotravel #nepal #himalayas #amadablam #everest
