I don't have a routine for reading but it is more like on a to-do-list. it works because our energy and time never is in sync but we always get It done everyday. It took us a while to know what works for us

Yes emphasis should be placed on reading. My daughter is on vacation and at night she stills read a chapter or two before sleeping

I agree , kids don’t see their parents reading . More than likely they won’t like reading either . Reading routine with parents fosters literacy and positive reinforcements
