we have a tripod tux cat. he was considered a hard to adopt case, honestly the foster and rescue kinda thought he would just be a permanent resident with them but never at home. well I fell in love with his little face. it took about a year before he would let us pet him on a regular basis. four years since we got him and he is now a big lover. we can't grab him or pet him unexpectedly, but he comes up to us in his safe spots (primarily the couch or by his food) and demands pets and love. he even snuggles.

My hound was the same when I started fostering her (and ended up adopting because I fell hard in love with her lol). She did not know how to live in a house or any basic commands, didn’t understand pets, but she learned so fast. She was 5 when I got her, and today she’s 16. The funniest and sweetest dog I’ve ever met ❤️

my girl was abused by a man pretty bad. My dad was super patient and it took 5 years for her to be able to trust him. Now she is PawPaws girl ❤️
