Look for Japanese Snow Fairy Bird. Not a Robin, but you'll like it.

I feel like “It’s a bad knockoff” is the entire personality of America at this point.

The part in Mary Poppins when she sings about the robin always annoyed me cause they show an American robin when it should be a European robin, as its set in London.

I get that you’re joking. But their original name in Ojibway is Opichi, and there is a beautiful story about how they teach us to respect children. English speakers came and misnamed them. Justice for opichi!

It’s like the Australian magpie. It does have a beautiful sound like the English magpie. But it also attacks people. Everyone has a story of being attacked by a magpie. My brother was not only attacked, he had his glasses stolen. 🤣😭

I'm gonna make you feel bad in a second because American Robins are the best. They're sassy but intelligent and very caring. You know how most birds will go into another bird's nest to kill the babies, destroy the nest, etc? American robins also sneak into nests but they do so just to help feed the babies. They're natural nanny birds and I've seen lone males take over caring for abandoned nests of other birds. Highly underrated and ignored bird. The European Robin on the other hand is highly aggressive and territorial. Known to fight other adults and small birds to the death. Doesn't go great for babies or fledglings that find themselves on their claimed territory either. American robins will hit your window because the reflection looks like they can fly through it or their reflection looks like a potential mate. A European Robin does it because he's trying to beat up his reflection. American robins feed babies and are not violent unless they feel threatened. They get sassy and into little fights with each other but it rarely goes to death. European Robins are estimated to be responsible for about 10% of adult mortality in some populations.
