Yesterday I looked at my husband and said “This is the healthiest I’ve felt in a long time!” You might be thinking… “But haven’t you been eating healthy for years?” And the answer is yes, but my version of “healthy” was always based on what other people were doing or what was trending. But these past few months I’ve made some changes that have made a huge difference for me and my body… 1. Incorporating more color and fresh foods into my diet. My mom recently encouraged me to start incorporating more fresh foods into my diet like fresh fruits, fresh herbs, pickled veggies, etc. and now that it’s the warmer months, it’s all my body craves and my body has been thriving off of them. I think one of the main reasons why is because of all the fiber I’ve been getting. I was struggling with constipation here and there, and now I’m going 1–2x a day (thank you kiwi lol). 2. Taking advantage of herbs! I can’t even begin to explain to you how powerful herbs are. I’ve been drinking my hormone tea blend every day and my luteal phase and period this month have been the best they’ve been in a while. I’m not just talking about teas… but fresh herbs too! Did you know arugula is an herb?! I’ve been eating a lot of arugula salads before meals because it’s a bitter herb which helps with digestion. 3. Focusing on getting most of my vitamins, minerals, and nutrients from whole foods instead of relying on supplements. At this point I think I’ve simplified my supplement routine down to just a few things. 4. Taking a pinch of Celtic salt and putting it in my mouth before drinking a cup of water for minerals and hydration (totally influenced by Barbara O’Neill) 4. Spending as much time outside and in the sun as possible has made me feel SO good. 5. And most importantly, focusing on what the Word says about healing instead of getting distracted by all the wellness info online, and choosing to speak life and health over my body instead of letting fear take over. These are just a few things I’ve been doing recently. They seem simple, but God’s design is simple! And I believe that’s exactly what we need to get back to… the basics💚
