Chickens are dinosaurs in feather form. Of course they'll eat their own eggs (if broken by someone) and even eat themselves..My aunt had chickens, and fed her leftover chicken, to her chickens..Her oldest chicken she ever had lived to almost 9 years 😁

Don't feed them their own eggs, it can become habit and they start breaking them and eating them. Had to add one of my hens on the stew pot because she wouldn't stoo breaking them. And other hens will reduce production because of other hens breaking. And there ya go, reason delivered.
