training for a marathon, I run 4 days a week, 30 min hit 4 times a week, and strength training 2 times a week. hasn't helped. lipedema is also painful

My mom eats like a bird and has Lipedema in her legs. It’s painful and difficult for her. She has a massive compression system that she uses every day to manage it.

Also, there is no such thing as localized fat loss. So her “arm exercises” would built muscle in her arms not necessarily remove fat there. So even without lipedema it’s very possible she could lose all that weight and her arms would look the same.

I have MS and I get people always telling me to do a parasite cleanse or check my potassium levels. pretty sure neuro would have mentioned them if they would cure it. everyone is a doctor when you have a chronic illness.

For real! I have a chronic illness that makes gaining weight difficult and so because of that I’m very underweight and the things people say to me are really pretty disgusting. I don’t even try to explain myself anymore because people like that don’t deserve my time.

I LOCE YOUR RESPONSE! As a Lipedema Therapist, it's so frustrating to try to find medical professionals who will help patients. We need more MDs willing to diagnose and willing to help therapists get the things that we need to help these women have relief through conservative care.

I don’t understand this. How does a calorie deficit not help if you’re still able to lose weight? Is it possible to have this on your stomach? How do you even diagnose this vs obesity? Not doubting it exists just genuinely confused.

Is lipedema painful? I have extreme pain and was told that I have lymphedema but from my research it seems more like lipedema. The thing is doctors have said there is heaviness but not pain. I am in extreme pain even at night. I can’t walk far, stand for more than a few minutes, and it’s miserable.
