@your.reading.teacher: ⁉️Why can’t they just put the sounds together?? It seems like it should be pretty straightforward and yet your little one may just not quite be able to make the jump. 🌈This is one great strategy. Use a continuous sound as the first in the word. (F, L, M, N, R, S, V - but the easiest are usually L, M, N and S!) So choose a word that starts with one of the continuous sounds. Streeeetch that sound out and add the next. Like this: ⬇️ “Mmmmmmm…… Mmmmmmmmaaaaaaaaap Now let’s say it fast!
