@sbsnews_au: A long-running dispute between Thailand and Cambodia has escalated, with both countries exchanging gunfire on the border. The Thai army responded with airstrikes at military targets. Acting Thai Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai has told reporters the border fighting "could develop into war". The latest attacks began on Thursday, with clashes reported in at least six areas along the disputed border. Each nation blamed the other for the escalation which has killed at least 16 people and forced many others to flee for safety.

Why Cambodia had to attack first while Cambodia tried to resolve this through the ICJ but not Thailand? based on past rulings that already confirmed its sovereignty over temple areas. Thailand refused, rejected the legal process, and instead moved troops and barbed wire into disputed land. That’s not “defence” that’s provocation. On July 24, both sides claim the other shot first, but when one side avoids court and escalates militarily, it’s clear who’s undermining peace. Cambodia acted in self-defense. This isn’t just about gunfire, it’s about who respects law and who ignores it. #thaistartitfirst #thaistartattackfirst #thailandstartedthewar #justiceforcambodia

there's no reason for Cambodia to fire on Thailand first.

🪐 :

Cambodia never wanted war — we have always chosen peace. But when our land is threatened, we must defend it. Thailand was the one who started this conflict. We are simply standing up to protect our nation. We’ve endured enough war — we never wished for more. But don’t mistake our desire for peace as weakness. We were born warriors, ready to defend our land at all costs.
