My husband calls my placard something funny that brain fog is refusing to let me remember right now. Priority parking, or superpower parking, or special parking spot. But that placard made me cry when I first got it. It turned into a lifesaver.

So true I had a worker at Walmart try and physically remove me from a store scooter cause “I don’t look like I have anything wrong” police were called she went to jail and lost her job the audacity of some people

People want to police others but don’t want the same done to them. I also get the lovely response when questioned: well your disability is just being fat. Always fun 🙄 I have lost 150 pounds but that doesn’t matter. Now that I’m disabled I struggle to take care of myself on a bad day, let alone lead an active life. I still need to exist. It’s so frustrating to have invisible illnesses. Thanks for speaking on this. Being disabled or overweight are accepted reasons to bully, harass, and be hateful.

I guess people don't realize you have to have a prescription to get a handicap parking placard so obviously there is a reason people have them. you don't have to be completely crippled to get one!

I sometimes think this is why Drs don't listen to me, that and the fact that I am a woman. I look fine, and I am not overweight and I am still active. But it's a day to day thing, some days I feel really good and other days I struggle just to be upright.
