I tell myself, don't worry about it, you can have junk food whenever you want. you're not missing out. its not going anywhere. its always avaliable. and it takes away that forbidden feeling of it, that taboo feeling, it makes it less enticing.

I think most people who aren’t plus sized don’t understand how much of a psychological and emotional battle it is. And that’s just on the base level of having to exist in a large body. Add to that people’s individual experiences an traumas and sometimes it feels impossible to fix. Especially if that damage was inflicted on you by others because of your weight.

I never liked the gym. At 46 I decided I NEEDED the gym to age gracefully and keep fit into old age. I want to be able to climb stairs, get up from the floor, walk unassisted etc. I don’t see gym as a punishment anymore but as a tool to that end. Find your WHY and do it

When I realised “healthy food” isn’t restrictive and boring like diet culture says it is, but it can actually be amazing and flavourful, was the day I was able to make lasting change in my diet. It’s not eating tiny portions of boiled plain chicken and broccoli forever, but it’s eating Indian, Middle Eatsern and Mediterranean food that’s fun and nutritious

I think there needs to be more understanding of PCOS too. I am finally sustaining weight loss because I’ve realised that stressing my body out through over exercising is counterproductive. Instead I’m moving my body intentionally and avoiding massive cortisol spikes

Once I stopped focusing on how much I didn't want to work out or how uncomfortable I felt getting started and started focusing on how much better I know I feel after I work out, it became a whole lot easier to make it part of my routine. Focusing on the good part instead of the uncomfortable part
