@lifewithoutboundaries: Replying to @Louise Okay, first things first… yes, I definitely butchered the pronunciation of Edinburgh 😅 (it’s Edin-burra, I promise I’m learning!) Second — let’s talk dinner. The night we were in Edinburgh, we made the very American mistake of trying to find a place to eat at 9 PM. Spoiler alert: it did not go well. 🫠 Most restaurants and pubs stop serving food much earlier than we expected — especially since we later found out it was a bank holiday (oops again!). So here’s the tip: 🕔 If you’re visiting and prefer to eat dinner later, make a reservation in advance at a spot you know stays open. 🕓 But if you’re more of a 5–6 PM dinner person, you’ll fit right in! And yes — when I said “scotch,” I know it’s whisky in Scotland… but I had to translate for the Americans who call whisky from Scotland Scotch! ?” 😂 (It’s all love — and learning!) Travel is all about the moments we get it almost right… and laugh about it later. 💬✨
I do think it is important to research & practice the pronunciation of foreign city names when posting travel videos. It shows expertise on a destination. Whisky is from Scotland and Whiskey is anything NOT from Scotland.

Part of Kentucky/Tennessee dialect is due to Scotland.

Right, it’s annoying. Let them pronounce Patchogue or Wantagh or Cutchogue (Long Island towns)
