This makes sense. In some cases, it will be the only way the victims can get there money back. Great law👍🏾

I watched the OJ trial aisle and I’ve always been confused. How can you be found innocent of a crime yet still be found liable for a death

Good timing for this education. The judge mentioned no gains from movie/book deals in the 7 life sentences given to Lori Vallow Daybell yesterday. Thank you for explaining.

If I’m understanding correctly, a convicted criminal has the right to publish stuff about their crimes, but the profits of those works can be diverted to the victims or limited somehow?

I’m at a toss with this. I think Convicted mur-ders should be allowed to sell their story. To profit and not to. The only reason I would want them to profit is if they really can say they were wrongfully convicted. It’s been proven there are thousands who get convicted and they were innocent. Those are the ones I’d want to profit so they can make money for appeals. Hard to say but I’m kinda for both.

So suppose OJ owed 5 million in the judgement & the book made 10 million. Would he have be entitled to the amount over the judgement? As he was never convicted criminally.
