They make floor models ones that you don’t need to hang out the window. The type you have has to be removed in colder weather and stored somewhere in case you get sick of the window unit

they're more like guidelines. it's heavy and they don't want you to sue. use proper lifting form and call a friend if it's legitimately too heavy
