To those saying that you can't talk with MAGA folks, I counter with Daryl Davis. He was a black man who successfully convinced over 200 members of the KKK to leave by talking to them and treating them like people in places like bars and other public places. He even convinced a Grand High Dragon to leave and earned his friendship.

I do agree we need more dialogue with those on the other side of the aisle and reaching a middle ground. However, it’s really frustrating every time I’ve made such an offer, the other side is too arrogant and idealistic and they refuse it.

I don’t think we need revolution, but I think we need massive reform in our voting systems. Corporate money has a way oversized influence.

The problem with a revolution is that a super majority of the population would have to be in on it where as if even a slight majority of one side proposed it the other side would demonize them and the revolution would be fighting the other side and the government. We’d have to all come together and agree to fight the greater evil which I don’t believe could ever happen.

I agree with what you’re saying overall, but I don’t agree that the conversation will go over well for a while. It’s gonna take serious time to get either side to listen to each other, and neither side are willing to even try to speak to each other right now. And there’s some merit to it, with how people on the right continuously say that LGBTQ+ people don’t exist or people on the left taking the idea of equality too far, to the point that the fix they propose is racist and will put institutionalized racism in, just the other way round. I have beliefs that are on both sides of the aisle yet even then people won’t talk to me because my politics aren’t the exact same. I just worry people are too deep in their echo chambers

The right compromising died when they brought Reagan in. they've repeated claimed that Democrats are evil and shouldn't be talked to. they claim Obama isn't an American. that the Clintons did satanic rituals and drank children's blood. the right was starting to die so they went insane and forced their viewpoint to be considered valuable when the core of it is. I don't like government so I'm gonna make it worse, then they make it worse and say oh it's so bad we should take the money and give it to my friends instead.
