Sounds better bro but as someone who did the same amateur job and got hatě for hot air intake, its better to leave the OEM airbox and just open the top, throw out the old filter and put in the new one, because as you can see the airbox is connected to another tube that leads toward the front (grille or vents) so it sucks the cold air when u drive, into the airbox and to the filter, yes it takes some hot air but if you leave the oem airbox connected, its still connected to the tubě so cold air is also there, so you dont really gain any hp without the heat shield, but also dont lose any and sounds way better so something was still gained i would say!
