It’s fine to include mental health information to raise awareness and help others understand. But the issue is that many people claim to have mental illnesses without ever being properly diagnosed. Often, it seems they do this either to fit in or to gain sympathy. This can water down the seriousness of these conditions and distort what they actually mean for those who genuinely struggle with them. I’m not saying everyone does this, but a noticeable part of the community seems to treat mental illness more like a trend than a real issue. In the end, having a mental illness doesn’t make someone more or less worthy of love or respect, people will care for you regardless. And yes, being open about it can help others be more mindful. But the way it’s often handled in the community right now feels like it’s gone too far. I’m just speaking to those who know they’re faking it or haven’t been tested. These terms exist for a reason.. to help people access the support and treatment they need.
