I always tell owners that it’s several hundred dollars for cpr we can still do it. But it won’t bring your pet back

It reminds me of a patient a few weeks ago .... called and said the patient was unresponsive... rushes in and I rush it back ... I noticed it had begun to get stiff..... owner comes back to where the dog is and yells at us for not putting her dog on life support 🤦🏻♀️

My coworker once brought in a dog. While she started CPR I tried to open the mouth and couldn’t. Then I tried moving the leg and went “I think we can stop now” that was new for me

When I found my girl she was already in rigorous mortis but I still tried for a couple compressions because I was in shock. 😭 I miss her so much, and I have no answers to what happened. She was laying under the couch in her normal spot, my camera picked it up but showed no struggle or anything. 😭 She was only 7.

I failed at doing cpr for my 12 year old lab, the vet thinks he had a heart attack in the pool. I found him in there even tho he had been in and out of the pool all morning. It happened fast but I wasn’t fast enough or good enough to bring him back. His pupils were dilated 😭.

literally just had this! had a non-client complain that we weren't open at 2am (were a GP and the ER is 20 min away). she was mad that we also could've helped her dog if I had gotten out of my car 2 mins sooner and I should be able to know why her dog died. I had to be so honest, like girl we're not available 24/7 as a GP, your dog was in rigor the 2 min made no difference, and no I can't divine why your 2 yr old dog we've never seen before died as you have no hx to provide other than she vomited once. and this was all after I sent her dog for private cremation at no charge since the owner was recently homeless 😐

A tech and I had to try to intubate and we found out later he has been dead for hours. This German shepherds mouth wouldn’t open so we had to pry his mouth open with cling and someone fucked up and my finger got caught in his mouth when he closed it was awful

I just rush it to the back and then let the dr handle the client. we won't initiate CPR on a corpse.
