That race director got called out for posting white supremacist content on either her socials or crazy mountain socials. If I remember correctly she did not handle that call out with grace

I agree that women should be able to make the best choice for themselves. Through her training I assume she has already decided what her body is capable of. I had trouble keeping food down for the first 7 months of my pregnancy so that changed what I was capable of doing, but I rock climbed until my belly was too big to get a harness to safely fit. Also, you are correct dad’s aren’t questioned for taking on risk.

I have to imagine too that she’s gonna have a STELLAR team and pacer to keep an eye on her IF she needs it! She’s a grown woman, insaaane to tell her no 😵💫

I'm really bummed to see CM100 getting caught up in bad decisions for the second time ... consider Scout 100 it's so down to earth also copper kings was pretty good and Helena 100 is in development if you are trying to run localish ... also HiLo just made history with 50% female start line!

Help me understand how a fetus bouncing around that much, and the racers body being under stress for much of the race, not be an issue for the baby? Also, how far along in the pregnancy would it not be okay to do?

We are trying to conceive while I’m training for my first ultra and my husband and I have already discussed how I would race pregnant if my body feels good because I’ve worked so hard training!

It’s really upsetting to see my home state be involved in this toxic decision making. Could’ve made history but no. I feel so deeply for her and the emotions she’s going through, that grief is probably so hard.

completely agree with you. it’s horrific that pregnant women are treated like incubators not autonomous humans with self determination. also it’s 100 miles it carries risk for everyone. Also no one bats an eye when a pregnant person drives a car and how many car accidents happen every day. idk life has risk

High Lonesome 100 is the best for representation. Had over 50% women at the starting line this year. Lots of scholarship opportunities for BIPOC.

like humans were BUILT for endurance. pregnant women in ancient times had to move long distances with their people too. why is a race director determining something that should between that woman & her doctor.

My real opinion would get ripped to shreds by 1 gender but I think it’s because there are some figures in families….and you confirmed we share the same beliefs at around 2:36 👏👏👏👏
